I've worked with leaders, managers, professionals and students in a variety of organisations including: IRC, BRC, ALNAP, World Vision, Tearfund, Oxfam, NCVO, Clore, Shaftesbury, Action on Hearing Loss, RNIB, NDCS, Ambitious About Autism, Home for Good, Open Doors, Oasis, Money Advice Service, NHS, Rockpool, CMF, CVJM and CaCHE. Achievements range from helping World Vision UK to achieve Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work for Star Status, through to enabling a Public Policy student to achieve a PhD.

Approach

I have a relational, results-orientated style. My approach to leadership development and culture change has a distinctive existential, psychological and systemic orientation, enabling critical reflexivity and critical reflective practice. In practice, this means helping people to think deeply and widely about e.g. issues they are facing; who or what is influencing their perspective and behaviour; how to expand insight, choices and resourcefulness; how to take decisions, actions and stance that are congruent, inspiring and effective.

International

I've conducted leadership, coaching, training and organisation development (OD) assignments in countries including: Albania, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Germany, Israel, Lebanon, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Uganda, UK, United States and Vietnam. I am a qualified CELTA and CELTYL (TESOL) teacher and do periodic volunteer work at a university for the poor and with vulnerable people and communities in the Philippines. I also provide voluntary TESOL teaching for refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.

Professional

I am a Fellow of the Institute of Training & Occupational Learning (ITOL), a member of the Organisation Development Innovations Network (ODiN) and a former columnist for the Association for Management Education and Development (AMED). I blog regularly and have had over 100 articles published - have a glance at Articles, Blogs and Resources. I've also spoken at conferences including the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), Institute of Training & Occupational Learning (ITOL) and World of Learning.

Qualifications

I have a Masters’ Degree with distinction in Human Resource Development, a Postgraduate Diploma with distinction in Coaching Psychology and a Certificate in Supervision and Consultation. I also have a Bachelors’ Degree in Theology and a Diploma in Pastoral Studies. I have studied Psychology of Management with the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), including Psychology of Training, Innovation and Teamwork. I was a former coach and coach trainer with 3D Coaching and with Novum.

Personal

I love Jesus, try to follow him and belong to a Christian motorcyclists' group in the UK. (If you're interested in this dimension, or have any questions about it, have a glance at 'Follower of Jesus' below). I enjoy on and off road cycling and swimming. I speak basic conversational German. Oh...and I love Thai and Indian curries!
