I use ProVisions Insurance (provisionsinsurance.co.uk). I have (happily!) never had cause to make a claim, but in my dealings with them I find them very helpful with good service.

Hi Nick, I use Towergate Professional, which I think was a recommendation from the BPS many years ago. They seem competent! www.towergateprofessionalrisks.co.uk.

I'm still with Towergate, who met Howden's premium when I came to review.

Hi Nick, I've always used Towergate but recently I've heard very good things about Balens, in terms of service and price.

Hi Nick, how's it going? I use Howdens and get a reduction as a member of the EMCC. They offer different premiums dependent upon level of risk. I hope that helps.

Hi Nick, I last used Towergate when operating solo (in 2009) - cost was £143. If you coach through your company you can possibly use their insurance policy for it. That's what I did when at PB.

I too use Towergate, service is good - as with any insurance it depends a bit on the level of cover you want and whether you are happy to carry an excess (Hiscox may be cheaper premium but with an excess). I find that some of the companies I work with are looking for £2m cover (or more!), but can usually be persuaded that £1m is enough! I haven't checked recently but AXA Direct may be worth a look.

I use Bluefin (www.bluefinprofessions.co.uk), underwritten by Epic - seem quite reasonable. I have prof indemnity @ £500,000 and public liability @ £1m cover. I would check out what level of cover your clients expect. This costs me c £355 + VAT for both. Happy hunting.

Of course the proof of the pudding is if anybody has actually had to use their insurance.... as with most things that will tell us how good any of them turn out to be!! But, like most insurance, hopefully we will never have to find out!! I guess a more interesting question is whether anybody has actually had cause to use their insurance? That would be the proof of the pudding as it were.... I have never actually heard of anybody needing to make a claim.

Hi Nick. I'm not from the UK but I got trained there as a coach. I know that Gerard O'Donovan who runs Noble Manhattan Coaching started off his business as an insurance company. I'd say that because of this they must have an insurance package for coaches. Hope this helps. http://westminster-indemnity.net/wi/index.php
